NOT A BRCC EVENT
4-ball match play, 90% handicap, and 20 PLAYING handicap limit. CLICK HERE to enter your index and see your 90% playing handicap capped at 20, and the strokes for all 4 players.
Strokes to be calculated the day before, Marty will provide.
There is 100% payout, single elimination 2-man event. Payout per team (not per person, based on 16 teams) in the money is as follows:
1st: $2000 2nd: $800 3rd/4th: $200
Currently planned schedule.
- Round 1 complete by July 22 (aggressive but please try)
- Round 2, play by Aug 24
- Round 3, play by Sep 28
- Last 2 teams standing, play by Oct 28
RULES:
Please do not involve the pro shop. They should not be inconvenienced, this is not their event, and last there was an incorrect answer given because they did not know our rules. When pairings are up, I will send email to each team pair with information.
- Use your common sense, good judgement, and sense of fair play and good sportsmanship. You may, if both teams agree, resolve any issue as you wish. However, these are the rules if there are any disagreements on an issue that can’t be resolved unanimously. This is not a BRCC event, this is a Marty/Joe/Patrick event (at this point). DO NOT involve the pro staff.
- PLAYING HANDICAP CLICK HERE to calculate the the number of strokes for each player in your 4some. 90% HC and HC is capped at 20. Example:
– If the players have indexes of 21.1, 17.2, 4.8, and 9.9, and are playing Red/White, plug those 4 indexes into the spreadsheet (or ask me to do it) and get strokes of 16, 13, 0, and 5 respectively. The 21.1 would be a 21 after 90%, but we are capped at 20 regardless of the low player. - Best 1 of 2 net balls for each team (four ball match play is the name of the format, just like 2-man you were eliminated from)
- All USGA rules apply. OB and Lost Ball are stroke and distance (maybe get a caddie…)
- Agree to an available date, time, and rotation with your opponents and book it as far in advance as possible. If there is more than 1 rotation available at that time and you don’t agree, let me know. The rotation played MUST be the one originally booked, unless the pro-shop forces you to play another, or all 4 of you mutually agree to change it.
- WHITE TEES. CLICK HERE to calculate the the number of strokes for each player in your 4some. This is 90% before rounding as USGA suggests, and then caps at 20, so PLEASE use the clink.
- Please complete matches by the deadline. I REALLY don’t want any drama, coinflips, etc.
Rules when something goes completely sideways (uncommon)
- CPO: Matches will be played in CPO unless both teams agree to reschedule (risking a coin-flip if they cannot complete on time)
- If there is a dispute about strokes given and allocation once the round starts and there is not unanimous agreement, no remedy can be sought for number of strokes given or stroke allocation, and the cards as marked and agreed to before the round stand.
- Delayed or postponed matches: In the event of a delay lasting longer than 1 hour between stoppage of play and the all clear from the shop to resume play, no player shall be expected to continue. Less than 1 hour delay, you are expected to continue. Again, unless otherwise mutually agreed.
- 12 holes will be considered a complete match in the case that play is stopped by the pro staff.
- If you have a dispute, this is NOT a BRCC event. Treat it as you normally would on a weekend scotch game. Feel free to call the pros with a question, but they are NOT obligated and should not be expected to give you a ruling. Play 2 balls if need be (always the furthest away first) and it can get resolved later.
- TIE BREAK PROCEDURE: Ties after 18 are resolved as follows:
- Tie breaking will be sudden death.
- If you cannot continue due to the course being closed for darkness or conditions, you will need to break the tie before the deadline.
- IF ALLOWED BY THE PRO-SHOP, play starting at the first hole played in the match, using the same dots as in the match.
- If this is NOT possible, and they need to start you on a different 9, Get your HC for the 18 rotation as follows (red/white for red, white/blue for white, blue/red for blue) and proceed playing until the tie is broken. If there is another tie after 9, continue on the rotation you started, if you cannot continue on the rotation you started, repeat the TIE BREAK PROCEDURE starting at step 1.
